MRI Gradient Amplifiers for Ultra Precise Imaging
PCI designs and manufactures high-precision PWM (pulse width modulated) amplifiers for use in MRI systems. Our amplifiers are used to power two important components of the magnetic resonance imaging system. One component is the gradient coils and the other is the shim coils.
Our gradient amplifiers supply precisely controlled currents to the gradient coils in order to produce a linearly varying magnetic field across the imaging volume. An important characteristic of a gradient amplifier is the ability to rapidly and precisely control the magnetic field strength and direction.
Our shim amplifiers are employed to control or adjust magnetic fields. These amplifiers shape (shim) the magnetic fields present in the scan volume to create the highly homogeneous field necessary in today's high resolution MRI scanners.
