Shock and Vibration Test Systems
High performance laboratory test systems used for shock and vibration testing (shakers) are often designed using linear motors. The linear motors are designed in essentially the same way as audio speakers: a moving coil is located in a fixed magnetic field, producing motion as the command voltage to the coil is varied.
PWM (pulse width modulated) amplifiers made by PCI are ideally suited for generating the high power levels required in shaker systems. Outputs of 150 VDC at 150 Apk and 300 VDC at 400 Apk are available, as measured on a per-amplifier basis.
Even higher currents are available when amplifiers are paralleled. Please consult with PCI on amplifier configuration options.
